Description

This Zesty Lemon Butter Fish Fillet recipe is a flavorful and easy way to prepare white fish fillets. The fish is seasoned, pan-seared, and then finished with a tangy lemon butter sauce. It’s a perfect dish for a quick and healthy seafood dinner.

Ingredients

For the Fish:

  • 4 white fish fillets (such as cod, tilapia, or halibut)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

For the Lemon Butter Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)

For Garnish:

  • lemon slices

Instructions

  1. Season the Fish: Pat the fish fillets dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Cook the Fish: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook fish fillets for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Lemon Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Stir in lemon juice and zest, cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. Finish the Dish: Return fish to the skillet, spoon lemon butter sauce over fillets. Sprinkle with parsley. Serve warm with lemon slices.

Notes

  • Serve with rice, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad.
  • Works well with salmon or trout.
  • For extra richness, add a splash of white wine to the butter sauce.
