Delight in these luscious White Chocolate Lemon Truffles, a perfect combination of creamy white chocolate and fresh lemon zest creating a tangy and sweet treat. These no-bake truffles are coated in powdered sugar for a delicate finish, making them an elegant dessert or a sweet gift.
Ingredients
Truffle Mixture
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- ½ teaspoon lemon extract
- 2–3 drops yellow food coloring (optional)
Coating
- ¼ cup powdered sugar (for coating)
Instructions
- Prepare White Chocolate Base: Place white chocolate chips into a heat-safe bowl. Add the lemon extract and yellow food coloring, if using. Set the bowl aside.
- Heat Butter and Cream: In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter with the lemon zest. Once the butter has melted, increase the heat to medium and add the heavy whipping cream. Cook the mixture until it just starts to simmer, then immediately remove from heat to prevent overcooking.
- Combine Mixtures: Pour the hot butter and cream mixture over the white chocolate chips. Let it sit for a few seconds to soften the chocolate, then stir gently until the mixture is smooth and completely melted.
- Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the truffle mixture for about 1 hour, or until it becomes firm enough to handle.
- Shape Truffles: Scoop small portions of the chilled mixture and roll them into balls. Use powdered sugar on your hands or on the mixture if it feels sticky to make shaping easier.
- Coat with Powdered Sugar: Roll each truffle evenly in the powdered sugar to coat thoroughly.
- Set Truffles: Place the coated truffles back into the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes to allow them to fully set before serving.

- These truffles make great homemade gifts and can be decorated further with lemon zest or edible glitter.
