These warm baked apple fritters are a delightful treat perfect for breakfast or dessert. Filled with diced apples and warm spices, these fritters are baked to golden perfection and drizzled with a sweet glaze.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
 - 1/3 cup granulated sugar
 - 1 tbsp baking powder
 - 1/2 tsp salt
 - 1 tsp cinnamon
 - 1/4 tsp nutmeg
 
Wet Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup whole milk
 - 2 large eggs
 - 2 tsp vanilla extract
 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
 
Additional Ingredients:
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples (such as Granny Smith)
 - 1 tbsp lemon juice
 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
 - 1–2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
 - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
 
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
 - Prepare apples: Toss diced apples with lemon juice in a bowl and set aside.
 - Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
 - Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter. Pour into dry ingredients and mix.
 - Add apples: Fold in diced apples. Scoop batter onto baking sheet and flatten.
 - Bake: Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
 - Make glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for glaze.
 - Glaze: Drizzle warm fritters with glaze before serving.
 
Notes
- Best enjoyed warm on the day they’re baked.
 - Reheat in the oven at 300°F for 5–7 minutes.
 - Add chopped pecans for extra texture if desired.
