Description

This Ultimate Pub Burger recipe delivers a deliciously juicy ground beef patty seasoned with a savory burger blend, topped with creamy pub cheese spread, rich beer caramelized onions, and crispy bacon, all nestled in toasted artisan buns. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal that captures classic pub flavors at home.

Ingredients

Beef Patties

  • pounds ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon burger seasoning blend

Toppings

  • 4-6 tablespoons pub cheese spread
  • Beer caramelized onions (see Notes for preparation suggestion)
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked

Buns

  • 4 burger buns (brioche, kaiser rolls, or pretzel rolls recommended; toasted)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Patties: Place the ground beef in a bowl and add the burger seasoning blend. Mix thoroughly with your hands until well combined, then form the mixture into 4 even patties.
  2. Grill the Patties: Preheat your grill or grill pan/skillet to medium-high heat. Grill the beef patties for 7-10 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  3. Assemble the Burgers: Remove the patties from the grill and place each on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Top each patty with a generous tablespoon of pub cheese spread, a spoonful of beer-caramelized onions, and 2 slices of cooked bacon.
  4. Finish and Serve: Place the top half of the bun on each burger. Serve immediately, with your choice of additional toppings or sauces as desired.

Notes

  • Beer Caramelized Onions: To make beer caramelized onions, slice 2 large onions thinly and sauté in butter over medium heat until soft and golden, about 15-20 minutes. Add ½ cup of your favorite beer and cook until the liquid evaporates and onions become richly caramelized.
  • Use brioche, kaiser rolls, or pretzel buns for best texture and flavor pairing.
  • Cook bacon until crispy either in a skillet or oven before assembling the burgers.
  • For a juicier burger, avoid pressing down on patties while grilling.
