Description

These Turkey and Cranberry Sausage Rolls are a delightful holiday appetizer that combines the flavors of savory turkey, sweet cranberries, and flaky puff pastry. Perfect for entertaining or as a festive snack, these rolls are easy to make and sure to impress your guests.

Ingredients

For the Sausage Rolls:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1/2 small onion, finely grated or minced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs (optional, to absorb moisture)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, mix together the ground turkey, cranberries, onion, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and mustard (if using).
  3. Assemble the rolls: Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface, cut it into strips, place the turkey mixture on each strip, fold over, and seal the edges. Brush with beaten egg, score the tops, and bake.
  4. Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve: Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • These rolls can be prepared ahead and frozen before baking.
  • Serve with cranberry sauce or Dijon mustard on the side.
  • You can substitute chicken or pork for turkey if preferred.
