Description

Turkey and Cheese Pinwheels are a quick and delicious appetizer or snack made by rolling sliced turkey, cheese, and fresh greens inside flour tortillas spread with a flavorful cream cheese mixture. These bite-sized pinwheels are easy to prepare, perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or a light meal, and can be customized with optional veggies for added crunch and flavor.

Ingredients

Wrap and Filling

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 8 ounces sliced turkey breast
  • 8 ounces cheese slices (cheddar or Swiss)
  • 1 cup baby spinach or lettuce

Cream Cheese Spread

  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Add-ins

  • Diced bell peppers
  • Sliced cucumbers
  • Olives

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cream cheese mixture: In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth and evenly blended to create a flavorful spread.
  2. Lay out tortillas: Place the flour tortillas flat on a clean, dry surface to ensure they are easy to spread and roll.
  3. Spread the cream cheese evenly: Using a butter knife or spatula, spread the cream cheese mixture across each tortilla, leaving about a ½-inch border around the edges to prevent overflow when rolling.
  4. Add the fillings: Layer the turkey slices evenly over the cream cheese spread, followed by cheese slices and baby spinach or lettuce. If desired, add optional diced bell peppers, sliced cucumbers, or olives for extra flavor and texture.
  5. Roll the tortillas: Starting from one edge, tightly roll each tortilla into a log, being careful not to tear the wrap and ensuring the fillings stay inside.
  6. Slice into pinwheels: With a sharp knife, cut each rolled tortilla into 1-inch thick slices to create bite-sized pinwheels perfect for serving.
  7. Serve or store: Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter and serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve for a chilled snack or appetizer.
