Description

This Tropical Sweet & Tangy Sauce is bursting with fruity flavors and a hint of spice. Perfect for dipping spring rolls, glazing meats, or drizzling over rice bowls, this versatile sauce adds a taste of the tropics to any dish.

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (slurry)
  • pinch of red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine pineapple juice, orange juice, vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, ketchup, and ginger. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to simmer.
  2. Add the cornstarch slurry and continue stirring until the sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving. Use warm or chilled as a dip, glaze, or drizzle.

Notes

  • Great as a dipping sauce for spring rolls, glaze for grilled meats, or drizzle over rice bowls.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 1 week in an airtight container.
