TOMATO CHUTNEY
TOMATO CHUTNEY is my most favorite chutney. The taste of chutney is tangy & little bit spicy. It is very easy to prepare. You can have this chutney with rice/roti/idly/dosa/any break fast dishes.
Ingredients:
- Tomatoes – 3 medium
- Ground nuts – 2 tbsp
- Coconut pieces – 2 tbsp
- Cashew nuts – 10 no
- Chana dal – 1 tbsp
- Tamarind – 2 inches
- Coriander seeds – ½ tbsp
- Jeera – ½ tbsp
- Red chilies – 3 medium (as per your taste)
- Salt – 1 tbsp (as per your taste)
- Ginger & Garlic – 1 inch & 4 pods
- Ghee – 1 ½ tbsp
- Water
Preparation Method:
- Wash & chop the tomatoes into medium size pieces
- Cut the coconut into small pieces.
- Heat a kadai add ghee, after ghee gets hot add ground nuts after ground nuts got little golden color add cashew nuts & fry for 1 min.
- Now add green/red chilies, channa dal , coriander seeds, cumin seeds & fry for 2 min.

- Now add ginger & garlic, coconut pieces, tomato pieces, tamarind, salt & fry for 2 min.

- Now add water and cook until tomato pieces gets little smashed texture.

- Blend the mixture into fine chutney after mixture gets cooled.
