Description

Indulge in the rich, buttery goodness of The Best Toffee! This homemade toffee is a perfect blend of sweet and salty, topped with chocolate, nuts, and a sprinkle of sea salt. It’s a holiday favorite that’s surprisingly easy to make.

Ingredients

For the Toffee:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Topping:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped toasted almonds or pecans (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Toffee: Line a 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper or foil. In a saucepan, melt butter, sugar, and salt. Cook until it reaches 300°F, then stir in vanilla.
  2. Assemble: Pour hot toffee into dish, top with chocolate chips, wait for them to melt, then spread. Add nuts and sea salt.
  3. Cool and Serve: Let the toffee cool, then break into pieces. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use a candy thermometer for best results.
  • Store toffee in a cool, dry place for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for longer storage.
