Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
- Beat in the egg and vanilla until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Form dough into a disc, wrap in plastic, and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll dough to 1/4-inch thick on a floured surface. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on prepared sheets.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are just golden. Let cool on pan briefly, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
