Description

These Teriyaki Green Beans are a flavorful and healthy side dish that pairs well with a variety of main dishes. The crisp-tender green beans are coated in a savory-sweet teriyaki sauce with hints of garlic, ginger, and sesame, making them a perfect addition to any Asian-inspired meal.

Ingredients

    Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. Blanch the Green Beans: Bring a large pot of water to a boil and blanch green beans for 2–3 minutes until just tender but still crisp. Drain and transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking, then drain again.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté garlic and ginger in sesame oil until fragrant. Add soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar, stirring to combine. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. Cook the Green Beans: Add the green beans to the skillet, toss to coat in the sauce, and cook until heated through and glazed, about 2–3 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and red pepper flakes if using. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use frozen green beans if fresh aren’t available—just skip the blanching step.
  • These green beans pair well with grilled chicken, rice bowls, or tofu.
