Description

This Teriyaki Beef Burger recipe combines the savory flavors of teriyaki sauce with juicy beef patties, grilled pineapple, and melty cheese, all sandwiched between soft burger buns. It’s a delicious fusion of Asian and American flavors that’s perfect for a summer barbecue or weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

For the Burger Patties:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce, plus extra for brushing
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For Serving:

  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 pineapple rings (grilled or fresh)
  • 4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced red onion
  • Mayonnaise or sriracha mayo

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, teriyaki sauce, green onions, garlic powder, ginger, and black pepper. Mix until just combined. Form into 4 burger patties.
  2. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until they reach desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of cheese and brush with a bit more teriyaki sauce.
  3. Toast the buns if desired. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, grilled pineapple, red onion, and a smear of mayo or sriracha mayo. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • Add pickled jalapeños for a spicy-sweet twist.
  • These burgers are great with sweet potato fries or a crunchy slaw.
