Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter (cold and cut into cubes)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, and salt.
- Add Butter and Vanilla: Mix in cold butter cubes until mixture is crumbly. Add vanilla extract and form a soft dough.
- Bake: Press dough into pan, bake for 30–35 mins until lightly golden. Cool in pan.
- Slice: Lift from pan using parchment overhang, cut into bars.
Notes
- Do not overmix the dough for a traditional shortbread texture.
- Store biscuits in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
