Description

Taco Pizza is the ultimate fusion of taco night and pizza party, with spiced beef, melty cheese, and fresh toppings on a golden crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 ball pizza dough
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup refried beans
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup guacamole
  • 1/2 cup crushed tortilla chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out pizza dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Form a rim and prebake for 6–8 minutes until lightly set.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning with a splash of water. Simmer until fragrant and thickened.
  3. Remove crust from oven. Spread refried beans over crust, then top evenly with seasoned beef.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over beef layer. Return to oven and bake for 8–10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Cool pizza for a few minutes. Add salsa, lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and green onions. Finish with sour cream, guacamole, and crushed tortilla chips.

Notes

  • Garnish with cilantro, extra green onions, hot sauce, cotija cheese, or lime wedges.
  • Serve with Mexican rice, corn salad, pico de gallo, or queso dip.
  • Cut into squares for parties, or make wraps from leftover slices.
  • Store slices in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat in oven at 350°F for 10 minutes or use a skillet for best texture.
  • Make vegetarian with plant-based crumbles, mushrooms, or black beans.
  • Use any salsa type—chunky, smooth, smoky, red, or green—to suit your preference.
  • Swap cheddar for pepper jack, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend cheese.
  • For extra crispy crust, par-bake, use a pizza stone, and brush with olive oil or cornmeal.
  • Prep beef and veggies ahead; add fresh toppings just before serving.
