Description

Tender beef tips in a sweet teriyaki sauce, a perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors. This Asian-inspired dish is quick to make and pairs wonderfully with rice or noodles.


Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ lbs beef sirloin tips or stew meat
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Teriyaki Sauce:

  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • â…“ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (or ½ tsp ground ginger)
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Additional:

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp cold water (for slurry)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sear the Beef: In a large skillet, sear beef tips in oil until browned.
  2. Prepare Sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and pepper. Pour over beef.
  3. Cook: Simmer beef covered for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Thicken Sauce: Mix cornstarch with cold water, add to skillet, and simmer until thickened.
  5. Finish: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Serve over rice, noodles, or vegetables.
  • For more flavor, marinate beef in sauce for 1–2 hours.
