A versatile and flavorful Sweet Chili Pineapple Sauce that combines the tropical sweetness of pineapple with a tangy kick of chili, perfect for dipping or glazing your favorite dishes.
Ingredients
For the sauce:
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- ½ cup crushed pineapple (with juice)
- ½ cup rice vinegar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
Instructions
- Combine ingredients: In a medium saucepan, mix pineapple juice, crushed pineapple, rice vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Create slurry: In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and cold water to make a slurry. Slowly whisk into the simmering sauce and cook for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
- Cool and serve: Remove from heat, cool slightly, and use as a dip, glaze, or drizzle for various dishes.
Notes
- This sauce is versatile and can be used for chicken, shrimp, spring rolls, or rice bowls.
- Store in the fridge for up to 1 week in an airtight container.
