Description

A versatile and flavorful Sweet Chili Pineapple Sauce that combines the tropical sweetness of pineapple with a tangy kick of chili, perfect for dipping or glazing your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

For the sauce:

  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • ½ cup crushed pineapple (with juice)
  • ½ cup rice vinegar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: In a medium saucepan, mix pineapple juice, crushed pineapple, rice vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  2. Create slurry: In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and cold water to make a slurry. Slowly whisk into the simmering sauce and cook for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  3. Cool and serve: Remove from heat, cool slightly, and use as a dip, glaze, or drizzle for various dishes.

Notes

  • This sauce is versatile and can be used for chicken, shrimp, spring rolls, or rice bowls.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 1 week in an airtight container.
  • For a smoother texture, blend the sauce before serving.
