Description

These Sweet and Savory Sloppy Joe Nachos are a delicious twist on a classic favorite, combining the flavors of sloppy joes with the crunch of tortilla chips. Perfect for game day or a fun weeknight dinner!


Ingredients

For the Sloppy Joe Mixture:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Nachos:

  • 10 oz tortilla chips
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños (optional)
  • Sour cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Add garlic and cook for one more minute. Drain excess fat.
  2. Prepare the Sloppy Joe Mixture: Stir in ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, paprika, and pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  3. Assemble the Nachos: Preheat oven to 375°F. Spread tortilla chips on a sheet pan. Top with sloppy joe mixture and cheddar cheese. Bake until cheese is melted.
  4. Finish and Serve: Top with tomatoes, green onions, and jalapeños. Serve warm with sour cream.
