These Sweet and Savory Sloppy Joe Nachos are a delicious twist on a classic favorite, combining the flavors of sloppy joes with the crunch of tortilla chips. Perfect for game day or a fun weeknight dinner!
Ingredients
For the Sloppy Joe Mixture:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Nachos:
- 10 oz tortilla chips
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños (optional)
- Sour cream for serving
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Add garlic and cook for one more minute. Drain excess fat.
- Prepare the Sloppy Joe Mixture: Stir in ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, paprika, and pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Assemble the Nachos: Preheat oven to 375°F. Spread tortilla chips on a sheet pan. Top with sloppy joe mixture and cheddar cheese. Bake until cheese is melted.
- Finish and Serve: Top with tomatoes, green onions, and jalapeños. Serve warm with sour cream.
Notes
- For extra heat, add cayenne or hot sauce to the sloppy joe mixture.
