Description

Indulge in these delightful Stuffed Cheesecake Fried Apple Pies, a perfect blend of creamy cheesecake, spiced apple filling, all encased in a crisp, golden crust. These hand pies are a delicious treat for any occasion!

Ingredients

Cheesecake Filling:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Apple Filling:

  • 1½ cups apple pie filling, chopped if needed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Other:

  • 1 (14 oz) package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Oil for frying
  • For the Glaze (optional):

    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 23 tablespoons milk
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Cheesecake Filling: In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. Apple Filling: In another bowl, combine the apple pie filling with the cinnamon.
  3. Assembly: Roll out the pie crusts slightly and cut into 4-inch circles using a cookie cutter or glass. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture and apple filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over to form a half-moon and seal the edges with a fork. Brush each pie with egg wash.
  4. Frying: Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the pies in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Glaze: Optional – Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm pies or dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm.

Notes

  • These pies can also be baked at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes for a lighter version. Allow to cool slightly before glazing.
