Ingredients
Crust
- 2 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
Filling
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Fresh strawberries for layering and garnish
Chocolate Glaze
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until well combined, then press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan to form an even crust layer.
- Make the pudding mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy whipping cream, instant vanilla pudding mix, milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Continue whisking until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth.
- Layer the first pudding portion: Spread half of the pudding mixture evenly over the graham cracker crust in the pan to create the first creamy layer.
- Add the strawberries: Place a layer of fresh, sliced strawberries over the pudding mixture to add sweetness and texture.
- Layer the remaining pudding: Spread the rest of the pudding mixture over the strawberries, smoothing it out evenly to cover the entire surface.
- Prepare the chocolate glaze: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is melted and the glaze is smooth and glossy.
- Add the glaze and chill: Drizzle the chocolate glaze evenly over the top of the cake. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow it to set properly.
- Garnish and serve: Before serving, garnish the top with additional fresh strawberries for an attractive presentation and added fresh flavor.
Notes
- For best results, refrigerate overnight to allow the cake to set fully and flavors to meld.
- Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best taste and texture.
- The crust can also be made with crushed vanilla wafers as an alternative.
- Make sure to whisk the pudding mixture thoroughly to avoid lumps and achieve a smooth, creamy consistency.
- Chocolate glaze can be customized by adding a pinch of salt or a teaspoon of instant coffee for enhanced flavor.
