Ingredients
Strawberry Syrup
- 1 cup (150 g) frozen strawberries, thawed
- â…“ cup (67 g) granulated sugar
- ¼ cup (60 ml) water
Frappuccino Mixture
- 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
- ½ cup (120 g) Greek yogurt
- ½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream (use ½ for whipped cream, ½ for frappuccino mixture)
- 1 tablespoon (12 g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (150 g) frozen strawberries
- 1 cup (240 g) ice cubes
- 1 ½ tablespoons (12 g) milk powder
- ¼ teaspoon (1.25 ml) vanilla extract
Whipped Cream
- ½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
Instructions
- Make the Strawberry Syrup: Blend thawed strawberries with ⅓ cup sugar and ¼ cup water in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat while stirring occasionally until the mixture thickens slightly to a syrupy consistency, being careful to avoid burning. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Prepare Whipped Cream: In a mixing bowl, combine ½ cup heavy cream and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Beat with a mixer at medium speed until medium peaks form, which means the cream holds shape but is still soft to the touch. Set aside.
- Blend the Frappuccino: Add whole milk, Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon sugar, milk powder, ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract, frozen strawberries, and ice cubes into a blender. Blend on high for about 1 minute until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and slushy with no large ice chunks.
- Assemble the Drink: Pour the frappuccino mixture into a glass. Drizzle a generous amount of the prepared strawberry syrup over the top to enhance color and flavor.
- Add Whipped Cream Topping: Spoon the freshly whipped vanilla cream over the frappuccino to create a fluffy, rich topping that contrasts beautifully with the strawberry base.
- Serve Immediately: Insert a straw and serve right away to enjoy the optimal cold temperature and freshness of the drink.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh or properly thawed frozen strawberries for the syrup.
- Adjust the sugar amount in the syrup and frappuccino to your preference for sweetness.
- The milk powder helps improve texture and creaminess but can be omitted if unavailable.
- You can substitute whole milk with any milk of choice but whole milk provides the best creamy texture.
- Serve immediately as the frappuccino texture is best fresh and cold.
