Description

Enjoy a delicious Spiral Ham with a sweet and tangy glaze that caramelizes to perfection. This classic holiday dish is easy to prepare and perfect for Easter dinner or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Spiral Ham:

1 (8–10 lb) spiral-cut ham, bone-in;

Glaze:

1 cup brown sugar; ½ cup honey; ¼ cup Dijon mustard; ¼ cup apple cider vinegar or orange juice; ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon; ¼ teaspoon ground cloves; ¼ teaspoon black pepper; whole cloves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Bake the ham: Place the spiral ham cut side down in a large roasting pan and cover loosely with foil. Bake for 10–12 minutes per pound, or until heated through (internal temperature should reach 140°F).
  3. Prepare the glaze: In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper. Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Glaze the ham: During the last 30 minutes of baking, remove foil and brush the ham with half of the glaze. Repeat brushing every 10 minutes with remaining glaze until the ham is glossy and caramelized.
  5. Rest and serve: Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a citrus twist, use orange juice and add orange zest to the glaze.
  • Leftover ham is great in sandwiches, omelets, or soups.
