Ingredients
Dough
- 20 Rhodes frozen rolls
Spinach Artichoke Dip Filling
- 8-9 oz frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained
- 14 oz artichokes (from jar or can), well drained and chopped
- 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 1/4 cups shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp minced garlic (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
For Brushing
- Melted butter for brushing
Instructions
- Prepare baking pans: Generously coat two 9-inch round pans with melted butter or nonstick spray. Place a 6-inch bowl upside down in the center of each pan to create the ring shape.
- Arrange rolls and proof: Position ten frozen rolls evenly around each bowl in the pans. Lightly spritz the rolls with cooking spray and cover loosely with plastic wrap. Drape a towel over the pans and let the rolls rise in a warm area until doubled in size, approximately 2-3 hours.
- Prepare spinach and artichokes: Ensure excess water is pressed out from the thawed spinach and that artichokes are well drained. Chop both ingredients finely and set aside.
- Mix filling: In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, Parmesan, mozzarella cheeses, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, basil, and red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly until smooth and creamy. Fold in the chopped spinach and artichokes. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator while the rolls rise.
- Preheat oven: Set the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) for baking.
- Fill rings: After rolls have doubled in size, carefully remove the center bowls from the pans. Spoon half of the spinach artichoke filling into the central hole in each pan.
- Butter rolls: Brush each roll generously with melted butter to enhance browning and flavor.
- Bake: Place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for 25-28 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Serve: Remove from oven, serve hot, and enjoy your cheesy spinach artichoke dip bread ring!
Notes
- Make sure to thoroughly drain the spinach and artichokes to prevent sogginess in the dip filling.
- Using room temperature cream cheese helps achieve a smooth dip mixture.
- You can substitute fresh garlic for minced garlic option if preferred.
- Letting the rolls rise properly is key to achieve soft, fluffy bread.
- Serve immediately while warm for best flavor and texture.
- Optional: Sprinkle extra Parmesan or mozzarella cheese on top before baking for an extra cheesy crust.
