Description

Spiderweb Pizzas are a fun and festive snack featuring prebaked mini pizza crusts topped with pizza sauce, mozzarella string cheese arranged like a spiderweb, and decorated with olives shaped into spooky spiders. Perfect for Halloween or themed parties, these easy-to-make pizzas combine simple ingredients with a creative presentation.

Ingredients

Pizza Base and Sauce

  • 1 package prebaked mini 8-inch pizza crusts (such as Boboli)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce

Toppings

  • 2 (1 oz each) mozzarella string cheese
  • 3 large pitted black olives

Instructions

  1. Preheat and sauce: Preheat the oven to 450°F. Place the prebaked mini pizza crusts on a baking sheet and evenly spread the pizza sauce over each crust.
  2. Create the spiderweb: Pull the mozzarella string cheese into thin strips and carefully arrange them over the sauced crusts in the shape of a spiderweb, creating a festive pattern.
  3. Bake the pizzas: Bake the pizzas in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted completely. Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool for approximately 3 minutes.
  4. Assemble the spider decorations: Prepare the spiders using the black olives by cutting the ends off two olives to form spider heads. Halve the remaining olives lengthwise, using one half for the spider’s body, and cut the remaining pieces into thin strips to create legs. Carefully place these spider decorations on each pizza on top of the cheese web.

Notes

  • Using prebaked pizza crusts saves time and ensures a crisp base.
  • String cheese is ideal for forming spiderweb patterns due to its pliability.
  • Black olives are used creatively for spider shapes but can be substituted with other dark ingredients.
  • Monitor the baking time closely to avoid burning the cheese or crust.
  • Let pizzas cool slightly before adding olive spiders to prevent sliding or melting.
