Description

These Spicy Chicken Rolls feature a flavorful blend of minced chicken and aromatic spices wrapped in crispy spring roll wrappers. Perfect as a tasty appetizer or party snack, they can be fried, baked, or air fried for a deliciously crunchy bite packed with heat and savory depth.

Ingredients

Filling

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, finely minced or ground
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce

Assembly

  • 8 spring roll wrappers or egg roll wrappers
  • Oil for frying or baking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Add the minced chicken to the pan and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring frequently until fully cooked and no longer pink.
  3. Season the Filling: Add chili powder, red chili flakes, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the chicken. Stir to combine, then add soy sauce and hot sauce. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture is well combined and slightly thickened. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  4. Assemble the Rolls: Place a spring roll wrapper on a clean flat surface. Spoon some chicken mixture onto the center. Fold in the sides and roll tightly, sealing the edge with a little water to secure.
  5. Cook the Rolls: For frying, heat oil to 350°F and fry rolls for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Alternatively, bake at 400°F for 18 to 20 minutes, turning once halfway through, or air fry at 380°F for 10 to 12 minutes until crisp.
  6. Serve: Drain cooked rolls on paper towels if fried to remove excess oil. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce or yogurt dip.

Notes

  • Adjust spice levels by increasing or reducing red chili flakes and hot sauce to your preference.
  • Air fryer cooking method is a great alternative for a healthier option.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauces like sweet chili or yogurt-based dips for added flavor.
