Description

This Spicy Cajun Steak with Creamy Alfredo Pasta recipe combines bold, smoky flavors of Cajun-seasoned ribeye steak with a rich, velvety Parmesan Alfredo sauce tossed with fettuccine. Ready in just 30 minutes, this comforting and indulgent dish is perfect for a special weeknight dinner or a cozy weekend treat.

Ingredients

Steak and Seasoning

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Pasta and Alfredo Sauce

  • 8 oz fettuccine or pasta of choice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the Steak: Rub the Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper evenly on both sides of the steaks to infuse them with smoky, spicy flavor.
  2. Cook the Steak: Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare doneness or cook longer to your preference. Remove the steaks and let them rest to retain their juices.
  3. Cook the Pasta: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine until al dente according to package instructions. Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water for the sauce.
  4. Make Alfredo Sauce: Using the same skillet, add the heavy cream and garlic powder over medium heat. Let it simmer gently until the cream slightly thickens. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. Adjust the sauce consistency by gradually adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  5. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Toss the cooked pasta in the Alfredo sauce until it is evenly coated. Season with salt and black pepper to taste for balanced flavor.
  6. Serve: Slice the rested steak and serve it atop the creamy Alfredo pasta. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a vibrant, fresh finish.

Notes

  • Letting the steak rest after cooking helps keep it juicy and tender.
  • Reserve some pasta water to adjust the consistency of the Alfredo sauce as needed.
  • You can substitute ribeye or sirloin with your preferred steak cut.
  • Adjust Cajun seasoning quantity based on your preference for spice level.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and smooth sauce texture.
