Description

A flavorful and quick-to-make Soy Sauce Pan-fried Noodles recipe featuring a savory blend of soy sauces, garlic, and fresh vegetables. This stir-fried noodle dish is perfect for a satisfying meal with a balance of savory, sweet, and mildly spicy notes.

Ingredients

Noodles

  • 450g Noodles, cooked

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2.5 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 4 tbsp Water or Vegetable Stock

Vegetables & Aromatics

  • 6 cloves Garlic, sliced
  • 3 Green Onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1-3 Red Chilies, chopped
  • 1.5 cups Bean Sprouts

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sesame oil, water or vegetable stock, and sugar until the sugar dissolves and the sauce is well combined.
  2. Cook Noodles: Prepare the noodles according to the package instructions, then drain them well and set aside to be added later.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add the sliced garlic, the white parts of the green onions, and chopped red chile peppers. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until fragrant and slightly softened.
  4. Add Noodles and Sauce: Add the cooked noodles to the pan and pour in the prepared sauce. Toss thoroughly to coat the noodles evenly with the sauce mixture.
  5. Stir-Fry with Bean Sprouts: Increase the heat to high, add the bean sprouts, and stir-fry the ingredients together for 2 to 3 minutes to combine flavors and keep the sprouts crisp.
  6. Finish with Green Onions: Add the remaining parts of the green onions and continue stir-frying for another 1 to 2 minutes until everything is well incorporated and heated through. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of red chili according to your preferred spice level.
  • You can substitute water with vegetable stock for a richer flavor.
  • Use freshly cooked noodles for best texture and flavor.
  • Sesame oil adds an important nutty aroma; avoid omitting it.
  • This recipe can be customized by adding proteins like tofu, chicken, or shrimp if desired.
  • Stir-frying is best done on high heat to quickly cook ingredients while retaining their texture.
