- 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cooked)
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Topping:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare baking dish: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Mix sweet potato mixture: In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, maple syrup, brown sugar, milk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until smooth.
- Transfer to baking dish: Pour the sweet potato mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
- Prepare topping: In a separate bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, pecans, and softened butter until crumbly.
- Add topping and bake: Sprinkle the topping over the sweet potato mixture. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and heated through. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, roast the sweet potatoes instead of boiling them.
- You can substitute half-and-half for milk for a richer texture.
