Ingredients
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Shape and Bake: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll them into balls, and place on the prepared baking sheet. Use a fork to press a crisscross pattern on top of each cookie. Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set and centers are slightly underbaked.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Do not overbake—this is key to keeping the cookies soft.
- For extra peanut flavor, add 1/2 cup of peanut butter chips or chopped peanuts.
