Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
Additional:
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop and Bake: Scoop the dough into heaping tablespoon-sized portions and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers still look soft.
- Cool and Enjoy: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For extra soft cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- Do not overbake—cookies will continue to set as they cool.
