A cozy blend of sugar cookies and cinnamon rolls, these soft and chewy treats are filled with cinnamon-sugar swirls and finished with a creamy glaze — perfect for dessert lovers and holiday platters alike.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (plus extra for filling)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon (plus extra for garnish)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tbsp whole milk
Instructions
- Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix additional brown sugar with ground cinnamon for the filling.
- Take a tablespoon of dough, flatten slightly, add a sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar, fold and roll into a ball.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9-11 minutes until edges are set.
- Cool cookies on the sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Whisk powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze; drizzle over cooled cookies.
