Description

A cozy blend of sugar cookies and cinnamon rolls, these soft and chewy treats are filled with cinnamon-sugar swirls and finished with a creamy glaze — perfect for dessert lovers and holiday platters alike.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (plus extra for filling)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp whole milk

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix additional brown sugar with ground cinnamon for the filling.
  6. Take a tablespoon of dough, flatten slightly, add a sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar, fold and roll into a ball.
  7. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9-11 minutes until edges are set.
  8. Cool cookies on the sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. Whisk powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze; drizzle over cooled cookies.

  • Optional toppings include raw sugar, extra cinnamon, chopped toasted pecans, or white chocolate curls.
