Description
Thick-cut bacon baked to a perfect crisp with a sticky, smoky, sweet bourbon BBQ glaze — the ultimate snack or brunch side with unforgettable flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 lb thick-cut bacon
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/3 cup smoky BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp bourbon
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
- In a bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, bourbon, brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne (if using).
- Arrange bacon in a single layer on the rack. Brush generously with glaze.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes. Flip, brush with more glaze, and bake another 10-15 minutes until caramelized and crispy.
- Let bacon rest 5 minutes to set glaze before serving.
Notes
- Use parchment between layers for storage to keep bacon crisp.
- Substitute apple juice or coffee for bourbon if avoiding alcohol.
