Ingredients
Ground Beef Mixture:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Additional Ingredients:
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 8 ounces uncooked penne or rotini pasta
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned. Add garlic, cook for 1 minute, then drain excess fat.
- Transfer to Slow Cooker: Move beef mixture to slow cooker. Add seasoning, salt, pepper, broth, cream of mushroom soup, and heavy cream. Stir to combine.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours. Add uncooked pasta 30 minutes before serving.
- Finish: Stir in sour cream, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Let thicken before serving. Garnish with parsley.
Notes
- Ground turkey or sausage can be substituted for beef.
- For added richness, stir in butter at the end.
