Ingredients

Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 8 ounces uncooked penne or rotini pasta
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned. Add garlic, cook for 1 minute, then drain excess fat.
  2. Transfer to Slow Cooker: Move beef mixture to slow cooker. Add seasoning, salt, pepper, broth, cream of mushroom soup, and heavy cream. Stir to combine.
  3. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours. Add uncooked pasta 30 minutes before serving.
  4. Finish: Stir in sour cream, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Let thicken before serving. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Ground turkey or sausage can be substituted for beef.
  • For added richness, stir in butter at the end.
  • To spice it up, add red pepper flakes.
