Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 2 1/2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 6 cloves garlic (smashed)
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
For Cooking:
- 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
For Garnish:
- Chopped green onions or parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Sear the chicken thighs in a skillet until browned, then transfer to the slow cooker.
- Mix the Sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, vinegar, water, sugar, garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns, and onion. Pour over the chicken.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until tender.
