Description

Tender, flavorful beef short ribs are slow-cooked in a rich and tangy BBQ sauce until they are fall-off-the-bone delicious. This recipe is perfect for a weekend feast or a special dinner with loved ones.

Ingredients

    For the Beef Ribs:

  • 6 beef short ribs (about 300350 g each)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¾ teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • For the BBQ Sauce:

  • 1½ cups ketchup
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
  2. Prepare the Dry Rub: Mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, mustard powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub the seasoning on the beef ribs.
  3. Make the BBQ Sauce: In a baking dish, combine minced garlic, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, black pepper, onion powder, mustard powder, cayenne pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and water. Mix well.
  4. Cook the Ribs: Place the ribs in the sauce, cover, and bake for 3½ hours. Uncover, spoon sauce over ribs, and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  5. Rest and Serve: Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy with extra sauce!

Notes

  • For extra texture and flavor, briefly broil the ribs for a charred finish.
  • These ribs taste even better the next day, making them great for meal prep.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or cornbread for a satisfying meal.
