Description

Ingredients

Shrimp:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups fresh spinach
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Creamy Crab Cheese Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup lump crab meat
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley


Instructions

  1. Cook Shrimp: Heat olive oil in a skillet, cook seasoned shrimp until pink and opaque, then set aside.
  2. Sauté Spinach: In the same pan, sauté garlic, add spinach, and cook until wilted.
  3. Make Sauce: In a saucepan, make a roux with butter and flour, whisk in milk and cream, then add cheeses, crab meat, seasonings, and lemon juice.
  4. Combine: Return shrimp and spinach to the skillet, pour sauce over, stir gently to coat.
  5. Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half and reduced-fat cream cheese.
