These Sesame Crusted Prawn Toast Sliders are a delightful fusion appetizer featuring succulent prawn patties encrusted with sesame seeds, sandwiched between soft brioche buns, and topped with a zesty sriracha mayo.
Ingredients
Prawn Patties:
- 1 lb raw prawns, peeled and deveined
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 large egg white
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon white pepper
Additional Ingredients:
- 8 slider-sized brioche buns or small rolls
- ½ cup toasted sesame seeds
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for pan-frying)
- Shredded lettuce or cucumber slices for topping
Instructions
- Prepare Prawn Patties: Combine prawns, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, egg white, cornstarch, salt, and pepper in a food processor. Pulse into a sticky paste. Shape into patties, coat with sesame seeds.
- Cook Patties: Pan-fry patties in oil until golden brown and cooked through.
- Assemble Sliders: Toast buns, mix mayo and sriracha, spread on buns, add lettuce/cucumber, patty, and bun top. Serve warm.
Notes
- You can prepare the prawn mixture ahead and chill for easier handling.
- For a healthier option, bake patties at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes.
