Description

This Sausage Sheet Pan Recipe is a simple and flavorful one-pan meal featuring a mix of andouille and Italian pre-cooked sausage combined with colorful bell peppers and onions. Seasoned with Italian herbs and garlic, it’s roasted until browned and tender, making it a perfect quick and delicious dinner option that’s easy to prepare and clean up.

Ingredients

Sausage and Vegetables

  • 12-16 ounces pre-cooked sausage, sliced into rounds (mix of andouille and Italian)
  • 2 red bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 green bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced

Seasoning Mix

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Slice and Prepare Ingredients: Slice the pre-cooked sausage into rounds. Slice the red and green bell peppers and the medium yellow onion into strips or rings as preferred. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it is ready for roasting.
  2. Mix Seasonings: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the olive oil, Italian seasoning, kosher salt, black pepper, and minced garlic to create a flavorful seasoning mixture that will coat the sausage and vegetables.
  3. Coat Ingredients: Place the sliced sausage and vegetables evenly on a large baking sheet. Drizzle the prepared seasoning mix over everything, then toss the ingredients gently to make sure they are evenly coated with the oil and seasonings.
  4. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 35 to 40 minutes. Stir the mixture halfway through the cooking time to promote even browning and cooking. You want the sausage to be browned nicely and the vegetables tender but not mushy.
  5. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm. This dish is versatile and can be enjoyed on its own, served over rice, tossed into a salad, or used as a filling for sandwiches or wraps for a hearty meal.

Notes

  • Feel free to use any combination of your favorite sausage varieties based on preference.
  • You can add other vegetables like mushrooms or zucchini if you like more variety.
  • Adjust seasoning amounts to taste, especially salt and spice levels.
  • Ensure sausage is pre-cooked since this recipe only reheats and browns it.
  • Use a rimmed baking sheet to prevent any juices from spilling over.
