Ingredients
Crescent Rolls
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
Egg Mixture
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
Filling
- 1/2 lb breakfast sausage (or any ground sausage)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
Garnish
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it into small crumbles until fully browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat and set the cooked sausage aside.
- Scramble the Eggs: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, then pour in the egg mixture. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the eggs are fully scrambled and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Assemble the Crescent Rolls: Open the can of crescent rolls and separate into individual triangles on a clean flat surface. Place a spoonful of cooked sausage on the wide end of each crescent triangle, add a small amount of scrambled eggs on top, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Roll and Bake: Carefully roll each crescent triangle starting from the wide end, enclosing the filling, and place the rolls onto the prepared baking sheet with the seam side down.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the crescent rolls for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted.
- Serve: Remove the crescent rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm for a comforting breakfast treat.
Notes
- You can substitute cheddar cheese with any cheese of your choice, such as mozzarella or pepper jack, for a different flavor.
- For a healthier option, use turkey sausage or lean ground sausage.
- Make sure not to overfill the crescent rolls to prevent leaking during baking.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the oven or microwave.
- Fresh parsley garnish is optional but adds a nice color and freshness.
