For the Filling
- 8 oz breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
For the Crescents
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
Optional Garnish
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sausage Filling: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage, breaking it up with a spatula, until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat. Transfer to a bowl and let cool slightly, then mix in the softened cream cheese until fully combined.
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Assemble the Crescents: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Place a spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture on the wide end of each triangle. Roll up each triangle, starting from the wide end and tucking in the sides, then place seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve: Let cool slightly, then transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and enjoy warm!
Notes
- You can use hot or mild sausage based on your spice preference.
- Chill the cream cheese slightly for easier mixing with the sausage.
- Make ahead: assemble crescents and refrigerate uncovered; bake when ready to serve.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce for extra flavor.
