Description

These Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents are deliciously soft crescent rolls filled with a savory blend of cooked breakfast sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and flavorful spices. Perfect as a hearty breakfast, snack, or party appetizer, they bake up golden and flaky with a creamy, cheesy sausage filling inside.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 pound breakfast sausage
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until it is fully browned and cooked through, breaking it apart into small crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess grease thoroughly.
  3. Mix Filling: Transfer the cooked sausage to a mixing bowl. Add the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything until well combined and creamy.
  4. Prepare Dough Triangles: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles.
  5. Assemble Crescents: Spoon about a heaping tablespoon of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle. Carefully roll up the dough from the wide end toward the point, enclosing the filling inside.
  6. Bake: Place each filled crescent on the prepared baking sheet with the tip tucked underneath to prevent unrolling. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm. These make a great breakfast item, snack, or party appetizer.

Notes

  • You can prepare the filling ahead of time and refrigerate it until ready to assemble, making morning prep quicker.
  • Add chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the filling for a spicy kick.
  • These crescents reheat well and can be served as leftovers, making them versatile for meal prepping.
  • Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and for easier cleanup.
