Description

Samosa chaat is a popular Indian street food dish that combines the flavors and textures of crispy samosas with tangy chutneys, yogurt, and aromatic spices. This recipe is a delicious and satisfying appetizer or snack that is sure to impress your guests.

Ingredients

Samosa Chaat Ingredients:

  • 4 vegetable samosas (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup chickpeas (cooked or canned, rinsed and drained)
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup diced tomato
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind chutney
  • 2 tablespoons green chutney (mint-cilantro)
  • 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sev (crispy chickpea noodles) for garnish
  • optional: pomegranate seeds for topping

Instructions

  1. Warm the Samosas: Slightly warm the samosas in the oven or air fryer until crisp.
  2. Prepare the Base: Break the samosas into large chunks and place on a serving platter.
  3. Add Ingredients: Top with chickpeas, red onion, and tomato.
  4. Drizzle: Drizzle yogurt, tamarind chutney, and green chutney over the samosas.
  5. Season: Sprinkle chaat masala, red chili powder, cumin, and salt over the dish.
  6. Garnish: Garnish with fresh cilantro and sev. Optionally, top with pomegranate seeds.
  7. Serve: Serve immediately while the samosas are still crisp.

Notes

  • You can adjust the spiciness of the dish by varying the amount of green chutney or yogurt.
  • For the best texture, serve the samosa chaat immediately as the samosas may lose their crunch over time.
