Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Additional:
- 12 soft caramel candies, halved
- Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Combine and Scoop: Gradually add dry ingredients to form a soft dough. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions, roll into balls, and place on baking sheets.
- Press Caramel and Bake: Gently press a caramel piece into each dough ball, flatten the tops, and bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden.
- Sprinkle with Salt: Remove from the oven, sprinkle each cookie with flaky sea salt, and cool on a wire rack.
