Description

This Roasted Garlic, Chicken & Herb White Pizza features a flavorful blend of roasted garlic, creamy ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses topped with tender cooked chicken and aromatic Italian herbs. The roasted garlic paste adds a rich and mellow depth of flavor, making this white pizza a deliciously satisfying alternative to traditional tomato-based pies. Perfect for a cozy dinner or entertaining guests, this pizza pairs savory herbs with a golden, crispy crust baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 1 ball of pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

Roasted Garlic

  • 1 head of garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Cheeses

  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Other Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (or a mix of oregano, thyme, and basil)
  • Fresh parsley or basil (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Roast the Garlic: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice off the top of the garlic head to expose the cloves, drizzle with olive oil, then wrap it tightly in foil. Roast for 30-40 minutes until the garlic cloves are soft and golden.
  2. Mash the Garlic: Once cooled, squeeze the garlic cloves out of the peel and mash them into a smooth paste using a fork or small bowl.
  3. Preheat the Oven: Increase the oven temperature to 475°F (245°C) to prepare for baking the pizza.
  4. Prepare the Pizza Base: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  5. Spread the Sauce: Evenly spread the roasted garlic paste over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
  6. Add the Cheeses: Spoon dollops of ricotta cheese across the surface, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan evenly over the pizza.
  7. Add the Toppings: Distribute the cooked chicken pieces over the cheese layer and sprinkle dried Italian herbs on top. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  8. Bake the Pizza: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheeses are melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish & Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley or basil, slice, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the garlic paste before spreading on the dough.
  • Use a pizza stone for a more evenly crispy crust.
  • Leftover pizza can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in an oven or air fryer.
  • To make this recipe vegetarian, omit the chicken or substitute with sautéed mushrooms or roasted vegetables.
  • Allow the roasted garlic to cool completely before handling to avoid burns.
