Description

A fresh and fruity homemade lemonade featuring ripe peaches and freshly squeezed lemon juice, perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe peaches, chopped
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar (adjust based on peach sweetness)
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 4–6 lemons)
  • 6 cups water (divided: 2 cups for simmering, 4 cups for dilution)
  • Ice (for serving)
  • Optional garnishes: peach slices, lemon wheels, fresh mint

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 2 cups of water. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for about 10 minutes until the peaches are soft and sugar dissolves.
  2. Use an immersion blender (or transfer to a regular blender) to puree the mixture until smooth.
  3. Strain the puree through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing with the back of a spoon to extract juice. Discard the pulp. Let it cool completely.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice and the remaining 4 cups of water. Taste and adjust with more lemon juice or sugar as needed.
  5. Serve over ice with optional garnishes like peach slices, lemon wheels, or mint leaves.

Notes

  • Use very ripe peaches for maximum flavor and natural sweetness.
  • You can use canned (in juice) or thawed frozen peaches if fresh aren’t available.
  • To reduce sugar, substitute with honey, maple syrup, or stevia to taste.
  • Letting the lemonade chill for at least an hour enhances the flavor.
  • Leftovers can be frozen in ice cube trays for flavor-boosting ice cubes.
