Description

This Red, White, and Blueberry Flag Pizza is a festive and delicious dessert perfect for patriotic celebrations. Featuring a baked sugar cookie crust topped with a creamy cream cheese mixture and fresh raspberries and blueberries arranged to resemble the American flag, this vibrant no-bake topping makes for an impressive and flavorful treat that serves a crowd.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 tube Refrigerated Sugar Cookie Dough (16.5 oz)

Filling

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 2/3 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 8 oz Whipped Topping, thawed

Toppings

  • 12 oz Fresh Raspberries (3 to 4 cups)
  • 1 dry pint Fresh Blueberries (about 2 cups)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the cookie crust.
  2. Prepare cookie dough slices: Open the tube of refrigerated sugar cookie dough and slice into 1/4 inch thick pieces.
  3. Form crust: Place the cookie dough slices evenly spaced on a lightly greased 12-inch pizza pan. Press the slices together and into an even layer forming the pizza crust.
  4. Bake crust: Bake in the preheated oven for 11-12 minutes, or until the crust is lightly browned. Remove and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
  5. Make filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with sugar and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  6. Incorporate whipped topping: Beat in half of the thawed whipped topping to the cream cheese mixture until well combined, then gently fold in the remaining whipped topping to maintain a light texture.
  7. Assemble pizza: Spread the cream cheese and whipped topping mixture evenly over the cooled cookie crust.
  8. Add fresh berries: Decorate the top with fresh raspberries and blueberries arranged to resemble the American flag – raspberries forming the red stripes and blueberries forming the blue field in the corner.

Notes

  • Make sure the cookie crust is completely cooled before adding the cream cheese mixture to prevent melting.
  • Use fresh, firm berries for the best presentation and texture.
  • For an alternative flavor, you can use flavored whipped topping or add a bit of lemon zest to the cream cheese filling.
  • Chill the assembled pizza for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow it to set.
  • This dessert is perfect for summer gatherings, Independence Day celebrations, or patriotic events.
