Description

These Quick Puff Pastry Cinnamon Rolls are a shortcut to deliciousness with all the flavors of traditional cinnamon rolls but without the yeast and long prep time. Made with puff pastry, they are simple to whip up for a breakfast treat or sweet snack.

Ingredients

Puff Pastry Cinnamon Rolls:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 teaspoons milk or cream (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the pastry: Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Brush with melted butter, then evenly sprinkle with brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Roll and slice: Roll the pastry tightly from one edge to the other to form a log. Slice into 8 equal pieces and place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake: Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
  5. Make the glaze: While rolls are baking, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze.
  6. Glaze and serve: Let rolls cool slightly before drizzling with glaze. Serve warm for best flavor.

Notes

  • Serve warm for best texture.
  • Add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling if desired.
  • You can double the recipe using two puff pastry sheets.
