Description
Quick Mango Iced Tea is a refreshing, fruity drink that combines juicy mango with brisk black tea, sweetener, and a hint of lemon for a tropical, thirst-quenching treat ready in minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 2 black tea bags (or 2 tsp loose-leaf black tea)
- 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
- 1–2 tbsp honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Bring 2 cups of water to a boil, then steep black tea bags in it for 4–5 minutes. Remove tea bags and let cool slightly.
- In a blender, combine diced mango, honey (or sugar), and lemon juice. Blend until smooth to make mango purée.
- Pour cooled tea and mango purée into a pitcher. Add 2 cups cold water and stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness or lemon if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or serve immediately over plenty of ice.
- Garnish with fresh mint or mango slices before serving.
Notes
- Use bottled mango juice in place of fresh mango if unavailable—reduce added sweetener accordingly.
- Make a grown-up version by adding 1 oz of rum or vodka per glass after chilling.
- Freeze leftover tea into ice cubes to avoid dilution in future drinks.
- Swap black tea for green or white tea for a lighter version.
