Description

Soft, chewy flatbreads that come together in minutes with just a few ingredients. Perfect for scooping dips, wrapping around grilled meats, or serving with curries, they’re a fast, foolproof solution for homemade bread.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1 cup Greek yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Optional toppings: melted garlic butter, fresh herbs, nigella seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix self-raising flour, Greek yoghurt, olive oil, and salt until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Knead on a floured surface for 1–2 minutes until smooth and slightly tacky. Add a little extra flour if needed.
  3. Divide into 6–8 equal portions. Roll each into a ball, then flatten to 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  4. Heat a dry nonstick or cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for 1–2 minutes per side until puffed and golden.
  5. Brush with olive oil or butter and sprinkle with herbs or seeds if desired. Keep warm wrapped in a clean towel until serving.

Notes

  • Use plain flour + 1½ tsp baking powder as a substitute for self-raising flour.
  • For gluten-free version, use a gluten-free baking blend plus baking powder.
  • Flatbreads freeze well—reheat in a pan or oven for best texture.
