Description
Quesadilla Burgers combine the juicy goodness of seasoned ground beef patties with the melty, crispy delight of cheese-filled tortillas. These burgers are assembled with two flour tortillas sandwiching a cheesy beef patty, then grilled to perfection until the tortillas turn golden brown and crispy. Topped with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, jalapeños, and a dollop of sour cream, they offer a delicious twist on classic burgers with a Tex-Mex flair.
Ingredients
Beef Patties
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Quesadilla Assembly
- 8 flour tortillas (6-8 inch size)
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
Toppings
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 2-3 jalapeños, sliced (optional)
- ½ cup sour cream
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Gather all ingredients and chop the lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and jalapeños into desired sizes to have everything ready for assembly.
- Cook Patties: Season the ground beef with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Form into four equal patties. Cook the patties in a skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side or until browned and fully cooked through.
- Assemble Quesadilla Burgers: Place one cooked beef patty onto a flour tortilla. Generously sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the patty, then cover with a second tortilla to form a quesadilla-style sandwich.
- Grill Quesadilla Burgers: Heat the skillet again over medium heat. Grill each assembled quesadilla burger for 3-4 minutes per side until the tortillas are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted inside.
- Add Fresh Toppings and Serve: Remove from heat, top each quesadilla burger with shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, avocado, jalapeños, and a dollop of sour cream. Slice in half and serve immediately while warm and crispy.
Notes
- You can customize the cheese blend to your preference; a mix of cheddar and Monterey Jack melts well.
- For extra flavor, add finely chopped onions or a dash of smoked paprika to the beef seasoning.
- If you prefer less heat, omit the jalapeños or substitute with mild green bell peppers.
- These quesadilla burgers are best served fresh and hot to retain crispiness.
- Leftovers can be reheated in a skillet or oven to maintain the crispy tortilla exterior.
