Ingredients
For the Pumpkin Hot Chocolate:
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/4 cup pumpkin purée
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar (or more to taste)
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
For Topping:
- Whipped cream
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine: milk, pumpkin purée, cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Whisk over medium heat until smooth.
- Stir in: chocolate chips, if using. Heat, stirring constantly, until hot and chocolate is melted.
- Remove from heat and: stir in vanilla extract. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a dairy-free version, use almond or oat milk and dairy-free chocolate chips.
