Description

Ingredients

For the Pumpkin Hot Chocolate:

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin purée
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (or more to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

For Topping:

  • Whipped cream

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine: milk, pumpkin purée, cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Whisk over medium heat until smooth.
  2. Stir in: chocolate chips, if using. Heat, stirring constantly, until hot and chocolate is melted.
  3. Remove from heat and: stir in vanilla extract. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream.
  4. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, use almond or oat milk and dairy-free chocolate chips.
  • Add a shot of espresso for a pumpkin mocha twist.
